XIAXUE’S HATE LIST. Celebrity blogger Xiaxue ranked Steven Lim No.1 on her “top seven most disgusting bloggers in Singapore” list, igniting a war of words in cyberspace. Lim Yee Hung observes the action from afar. - Digital Life, your weekly technology magazine from The Straits Times, 24th July 2007.
Drawing first blood. http://xiaxue.blogspot.com/2007/07/top-seven-most-disgusting-bloggers-in.html “The thing the most disgusting about him is: His face.” “Or more specifically, his eyes? Somehow, he just looks damn perverted every time he look at someone in “earnesty”. Worst of all, he loves to dress in near-nakedness, most of the time wearing his 5-seconds-of-fame-in-Singapore-idol undies. “I’m sorry to tell you this Steven, but yellow is seriously not your colour!”
The fight back. http://www.stevenlim.net/ “I had started blogging many many years ago even before XiaXue has started hers with my other previous weblinks. She knows I’m her senior and she is very disrespectful to list me as the one of the most disgusting bloggers in Singapore.” “Look who is talking….it directly hurts my pride and feelings and indirectly my parents who bear me…Can I control how I look?”
Admit that you are interested. http://spacemunkey.wordpress.com/2007/07/17/bomzaaaaa/ “I couldn’t agree more with her enough on her Steven Lim part. I am less passionate about agreeing wholeheartedly on the other 6 people she criticized…..” “Nothing to say man. Even for all Xiaxue detractors who hate her to her core, you just have to admit she is interesting and her blog makes for a light, funny and nice read.” “If she was a boring, serious and too-solemn person who blogged about nothing but stuff like political opinions or economic analysis… Heck, no one would even read her.”
Feeling brain-washed. http://sabrina.sg/2007/07/18/the-blogging-goddess-xiaxue-exposes-the-top-7-most-disgusting-bloggers “Ironic isn’t it. Who else can create such a stir…What can I say. She is most definitely the Queen of us(bloggers) all. Her words simply strike deep into our hearts causing a chemical reaction within each and everyone of us. A reaction that we all cannot seem to control. And the result? We end up blogging about the topic she does. Impressive isn’t it?” “I feel somewhat brain-washed to do her every bidding, don’t you? Of course you do, I mean, how many of us are talking about this topic? Should I go within the lines of, countless?”
Too vicious. http://darthsid.blogpot.com/2007/07/aiyoo.html “Xiaxue’s recent blog post about disgusting bloggers? Uncalled for lah. Tsk, there needs to be some maturity on her part as a 23(?) year old; that post was quite vicious.”
She’s brave. http://annabelchew.blogspot.com/2007/07/steven-lim-vs-xiaxue.html “It’s bloody darn good! How many people (Singaporeans for that matter) would pluck up enough courage to stop speaking ‘politically correct’ for once???” “I don’t read her blog that regularly, but things are starting to look fun. Plus, she’s entertaining….”
Oh well, I think Xiaxue so cool and of course bringing ‘something’ hell missing in Singapore, happened. Yah you can all named her bitch, brave, vicious or simply anything you want. Agreed; doesn’t the local just love backlash? Digging your joy out of a clown? Were sympathy shown because Mr Steven Lim voice out? I admit I do enjoyed the ‘clown’ thingy from such ‘entertainers’ around, like the ‘Pinky’ from the first season of Singapore Idol? I believe almost all who watched that episode laughed at them for their stupidities! If she blog in a manner of “dare to think but dare not say”, I believe she might not be the Xiaxue we had known for now. This is hell a major different from other blogs we read. So why don’t we appreciate her contribution instead of criticisms. Ain’t all the same? As for Steven Lim,:
“I had started blogging many many years ago even before XiaXue has started hers with my other previous weblinks. She knows I’m her senior and she is very disrespectful to list me as the one of the most disgusting bloggers in Singapore.” “Look who is talking….it directly hurts my pride and feelings and indirectly my parents who bear me…Can I control how I look?”
-Does it mean you’re senior and I had to respect you? Can I control when I was born..? Sound familiar? LOL You don just gain respect from that, but you need to earn it. From this, did u indirectly reflect something you mention? And I can’t believe words of true and facts can really hurt your pride? (sounds girly to me). Of course this doesn’t mean anything personal.
